Upcoming Show at Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery

I'm pleased to be one of the artists participating in the upcoming 70th-anniversary exhibition at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (LAMAG), a celebrated institution renowned for showcasing a diverse array of Los Angeles artists since 1954.

LAMAG has been a cornerstone of artistic innovation in Los Angeles in the past, historically supporting underrepresented artists. The gallery's open call format, a tradition since its founding, democratizes the art world by exhibiting works from artists of all backgrounds, from emerging talents to seasoned practitioners. This inclusivity has also celebrated many artists, like Barbara Kruger, John Baldessari, and Kerry James Marshall, who have gone on to international acclaim.

This year's exhibition, in honor of LAMAG's rich legacy, revives this open call tradition, encouraging a diverse and vibrant representation of Southern California's art scene. It's an honor to be part of this historic event, alongside a myriad of talented artists, each with their unique voice and vision.

Titled “Open Call: Apophenia”, the exhibit will feature an impressive showcase of artworks from 350 artists living and/or working in Southern California and is curated by LAMAG Curators’ Nancy Meyer and Hugo Cervantes.
